Our Goal: Continuing to bring affordable, quality performing arts education and performance to the De Pere & Green Bay communities.

Core Values: Educate, Inspire, Create & Achieve

Community artreach initiative

While expanding spatially, Birder Studio of Performing Arts (BSOPA) also launched a community outreach initiative named “ARTreach.” This program’s goal is to expand arts education offerings to more youth and families in the greater Green Bay and De Pere areas.

ARTreach programming began in the spring of 2016. Partnering with the YMCA after-school program, we have been able to offer six-week performing arts workshops at five school sites to over 130 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Students participate in performing arts classes that instill confidence, creativity and discipline as they prepare select scenes. Each workshop culminates with an onsite performance hosting peers, parents and teachers in the audience to support these new actors. Since the success of the YMCA partnership, the ARTreach program continues to establish relationships with other community organizations including the Green Bay Public Schools and YWCA.

Additionally, BSOPA is committed to providing opportunities for new patrons of the arts, beyond classroom education. The ARTreach initiative offers discounted performances to partnering community agencies and schools. In its first year, nearly 275 students from Big Brothers Big Sisters, YMCA after school sites and Syble Hopp school excitedly attended performances as audience members to watch three student productions. With your continued support, BSOPA hopes to continue to expand and further bring quality arts education and productions to our community. We strive to “open the curtain for the next generation.”
