Birder Studio of Performing Arts, Inc. (Birder on Broadway) is growing, and we're looking for an organized, creative, and people-focused professional to join our team!

This part-time position is ideal for someone who loves spreadsheets as much as they love supporting the arts and enjoys working with students, families, volunteers, and patrons in a dynamic multi-faceted environment.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate production and studio logistics

  • Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and organizational systems

  • Assist with volunteer scheduling and communication

  • Support donor, patron, and family communications

  • Design flyers, graphics, and promotional materials using Canva

  • Help organize events and performances

  • Maintain accurate records and administrative documents

  • Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

  • Comfortable creating polished materials in Canva

  • An excellent written and verbal communicator

  • Friendly and professional with volunteers, patrons, and families

  • Able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

  • Self-motivated and dependable

  • Passionate about supporting arts education and community engagement

Bonus Skills

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

(2) Production & Theatre Operations Coordinator (Part-Time)

Birder Studio of Performing Arts is seeking a motivated, organized, and creative team member to support the day-to-day operations of our productions and events. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys theatre, problem-solving, and working with students, volunteers, and production teams in a collaborative environment.

Primary Responsibilities

As our Production & Theatre Operations Coordinator, you will assist with and coordinate a variety of production and event responsibilities, including:

  • Box office and front-of-house coordination

  • House management during performances and special events

  • Basic stage management support for rehearsals and productions

  • Performance and event setup and strike

  • Prop coordination, organization, and design

  • Costume inventory, organization, and production costume management

  • Cast coordination and communication during rehearsals and performances

  • Maintaining production materials, prop/costume storage and backstage organization

  • Assisting staff and volunteers with production logistics

  • Supporting a safe, welcoming, and efficient theatre environment

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate is:

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Dependable, willing and able to manage multiple responsibilities

  • Comfortable working with youth performers, families, and volunteers

  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Flexible and calm under pressure in a live performance environment

(3) Costume Coordinator & Wardrobe Manager (Part-time)

Birder on Broadway is seeking a passionate, creative, and organized individual to lead the coordination, management, and creation of costumes for our educational theatre productions.

The ideal candidate enjoys working collaboratively with performers of all ages, has an eye for design and detail, and thrives in a dynamic theatrical environment. This position plays an essential role in bringing our productions to life while ensuring our costume inventory is maintained and organized throughout the season.

Position Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee costumes for 4–6 theatrical productions annually.

  • Design, create, source, alter, and organize costumes as needed to support each production's artistic vision.

  • Maintain and manage the studio's costume inventory, storage, and tracking systems.

  • Organize and lead costume fittings for cast members.

  • Collaborate with directors, production staff, volunteers, and performers to ensure costume needs are met.

  • Supervise costume preparation during rehearsals and performances as needed.

  • Coordinate laundering, repairs, alterations, and maintenance of costumes before and after productions.

  • Assist in recruiting and coordinating volunteers to support costume-related projects.

  • Ensure costume areas remain clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications

  • Passion for theatre, creativity, and arts education.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with youth, adults, families, and volunteers.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Sewing and costume construction or alteration experience preferred, but willingness to learn is encouraged.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Schedule

This is a part-time, flexible position. Most hours may be scheduled independently based on project needs; however, availability is expected during:

  • Pre-production planning periods

  • Costume fitting sessions

  • Technical rehearsals

  • Dress rehearsals

  • Performance weekends and production strike

Scheduling will vary throughout the year and increase during active production periods.
